You understand the importance of child safety and have experience working with under-18s, including managing risk and meeting reporting obligations. You’re also confident engaging with students who may be exhibiting behaviours of concern, working in partnership with colleagues and external services to find constructive solutions.
With strong interpersonal skills, you can provide clear advice, build trust, and work collaboratively across the University. Above all, you are dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where every member of the RMIT community feels heard and protected.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:
- Demonstrated high level expertise in case management and risk assessment.
- Demonstrated awareness and understanding of prevailing issues that relate to sexual harm and gender-based violence, particularly in a tertiary education setting.
- Experience and awareness of the issues relating to under 18 students and the appropriate risk management strategies.
- Experience and understanding of the impact of intersectionality in relation to marginalised and minority groups in promoting best practice in the response relating to all parties.
- Established expertise in the maintenance of comprehensive case records. Experience and knowledge of privacy legislation and due process.
- Highly developed writing skills and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, to solve complex problems and make recommendations. Sound judgement on when to seek advice.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of individuals and groups, and to work across internal and external service boundaries.
