As a Laboratory Technicianreporting to theFoundation Studies Team Lead STREAM- (STEM), you will play a key role in supporting STEM education by ensuring our teaching laboratories are safe, well-organised and ready for engaging, hands-on learning.You’llmanage equipment,materialsand chemical inventories,maintainsafety and quality processes, and provide technical support to academic staff during practical classes. This role also involves conducting lab inductions, upholding OH&Scomplianceand contributing to a positive learning environment for both students and teachers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic lab setting and is passionate about supporting education in science and technology.
Completion of a degree in a STEM based area, preferably within an Applied
Science (laboratory technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related).
Experience in providing technical laboratory support to science teachers and/or
experience in laboratory support for Foundation Studies Biology, Chemistry
and Physics classes.Skilled in managing andmaintaininglaboratory equipment, instruments, and physical resources
Able to conduct laboratory inductions for students,new staff, and teachers, ensuring safety protocols are understood and followed
Proficient inmaintaininglab documentation, including risk assessments, equipment registers, chemical inventories, and SDS management
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of ensuring a professional, organised, and safe laboratory environment
