Work for mob. Stand with community. Make a real difference.
This role is about walking alongside Aboriginal people and communities with respect, care and cultural strength.
We’re looking for an Aboriginal person who understands community, values relationships, and wants to support mob when they’re navigating the court system. You don’t need to be an expert in courts — what matters most is your cultural knowledge, your connection to community, and your ability to support people in a calm, respectful and practical way.
If you care about helping people, building trust, and strengthening outcomes for Aboriginal families, this role offers meaningful work every day.
Your role
As an Aboriginal Client & Community Support Officer, you’ll provide culturally safe support to Aboriginal clients and communities engaging with the court.
You’ll be a trusted presence — someone people can talk to, ask questions of, and feel comfortable with. You’ll also support Aboriginal-focused projects and community activities that aim to improve access, understanding, and outcomes for mob.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will:
- Support Aboriginal clients and community members with culturally safe, respectful customer service
- Help people understand processes and feel supported when attending court
- Support Aboriginal-led projects, programs and community initiatives
- Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities, service providers and other stakeholders
- Communicate and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to support positive outcomes for clients and community
- Assist with reports, records, data and project coordination
- Promote services and programs in a way that is culturally appropriate and community-focused
- Work as part of a supportive Aboriginal Services team that values culture, connection and respect
What we’re looking for
This role would suit you if you:
- Are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with strong community connections
- Have a genuine commitment to supporting mob and strengthening community outcomes
- Are comfortable working with people from different backgrounds and life experiences
- Have strong customer service skills and a respectful, caring approach
- Communicate clearly and confidently, both face-to-face and in writing
- Are organised, reliable and able to manage information accurately
- Enjoy working as part of a team and supporting others
- A current driver’s licence is required, and some travel may be involved.
