About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Centre Administrator to support the effective and efficient operation of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course (the Life Course Centre).
Reporting to the Centre Chief Operating Officer, the Centre Administrator works with a range of senior academics and professional staff across four universities to ensure the smooth, effective and efficient operation of the Centre. The primary focus of the role is on providing executive support for the Centre Director and Chief Operating Officer, and supporting the Centre's Executive Committee. The role also delivers a high level of support to key partners and stakeholders in government, the not-for-profit sector, and business.
This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term position through to 31 December 2027. We offer flexibility in how the days are spread across the week—for example, Monday to Thursday full days, or shorter hours across five days.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Executive level support to the Centre Director and COO, including diary management, meeting preparation, handling sensitive communications and travel arrangements.
- Project support for Life Course Centre and Laureate projects within the Baxter Research Group, including milestone reports, final reports and support with preparation of project plans.
- Coordinate the Centre’s Executive Committee and support project reporting, compliance tracking, and milestone submissions.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, manage travel and events, and contribute to the delivery of engagement activities.
- Undertakes financial administration responsibilities for the Centre Director, including exercising the appropriate financial delegation in accordance with University policy and procedures.
- Supports the successful delivery of events and other engagement activities including liaison with key contacts and guest speakers.
- Undertakes complex data entry, retrieval, compilation, visualisation and management processes.

About You
You are a highly organised and adaptable administrator with strong interpersonal and coordination skills. You bring a commitment to delivering high-level executive support and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will have:
- A relevant degree with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional expertise.
- Proven experience providing executive support, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
- Experience in project coordination and office administration.
- Familiarity with university systems and processes, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
