BHP has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Infrastructure & Services, Engineering team in the Bowen Basin. Reporting to the Water Utilities Lead Engineer, this role will be responsible for scoping and delivering water & sewage treatment plant upgrade projects through the whole project lifecycle from initiation through to closeout. You will focus on ensuring compliance to BHP’s Small Project Management Framework, engineering quality and change management systems while working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for the business.
This opportunity is being offered within the Bowen Basin located near Moranbah, Central Queensland. A Monday to Friday site roster with flexibility is available. Flexible travel options (FIFO & DIDO from surrounding areas) are on offer.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop project proposals and business cases in line with stakeholder requirements and BHP capital expenditure processes.
• Development of project scopes, budgets and schedules along with all aspects of project management from feasibility stage to sustainable operations phase.
• Problem solving and managing engineering designs and ensuring compliance to relevant Australian, BMA and industry standards.
• Engaging with key internal BMA stakeholders within the engineering team and across sites and central departments including maintenance, operations, procurement, water planning, legal, environmental, etc.
• Engaging with external stakeholders including relevant councils, Sunwater, landholders, and other Mining Companies in the development and execution of the water treatment infrastructure projects.
• Contractor onboarding and contract management.
• Supporting the construction supervisor during execution and in line with the site’s Safety Health Management System (SHMS).
