Reporting to the Project Superintendent, the Coordinator Shutdown supports the Project Superintendent, Lead Supervisor and project leadership team in the safe, efficient and timely delivery of shutdown and project activities. The role focuses on coordination, communication, administrative support and compliance, enabling effective execution, strong safety performance and achievement of project milestones.
This position is based at the CQO and will be offered on an 8/6 dayshift roster during shutdowns and 5/2 M-F between shutdowns with FILO as an option.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Lead Supervisors with short term (3–7 day) look ahead planning, task readiness and tracking of work activities.
• Assist with daily execution support including toolbox talks, shift handovers and operational briefings.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure clarity of scope, readiness and pre deliverables.
• Track shutdown and project performance and support visual management tools and dashboards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and support adherence to BMA SHMS and site safety standards.
• Assist with pre starts, risk assessments, JSAs, safety observations and recording of actions.
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, registers and EMS event reporting requirements.
• Act as a key communication link between background mine sites, support functions, suppliers and Repairables.
• Provide daily inputs on progress, constraints and risks to delivery (labour, materials, components).
• Communicate relevant project, business and safety information to key stakeholders.
• Assist with onboarding and mobilisation of project personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of work packs, drawings, permits and project documentation.
• Support the Logistics Coordinator with materials, tools and equipment readiness.
• Support the Project Controller with data collection, reporting and shutdown close out activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, communication and execution efficiency.
• Participate in problem solving, root cause analysis and improvement initiatives.
• Capture lessons learned during execution and support close out reviews.
