About This Opportunity
Join The University of Queensland (UQ) as a Security Officer, ensuring the safety and security of our buildings, grounds, staff, students, and visitors. Our Security Officers provide professional, high-quality service while upholding UQ’s Standards of Operation and Personal Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to alarms, medical and fire emergencies, and security incidents.
Operate the Central Security Monitoring Station (CSMS).
Assist with public, staff, and student inquiries and complaints.
Conduct patrols, lock/unlock buildings, and manage access for authorized personnel.
Administer First Aid as required.
Enforce parking and traffic regulations.
Conduct preliminary investigations and prepare detailed reports.
Report urgent matters to the Security Supervisor.
Perform additional duties as directed by security management.
Please note: A successful applicant will need to have full availability to attend 2 weeks full-time training. Due to the size of the campus, this role involves extensive walking and regular outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions. A reasonable level of physical fitness is required to meet the demands of the position.

About You
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, Criminal Check and a Medical Check.
