About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Research Officer to join the Australian Centre for Water and Environmental Biotechnologies (ACWEB), and the Water-Energy-Carbon Group. You will focus your efforts on developing your expertise and emerging research profile in their discipline while contributing to multiple exciting projects.
These include current projects with the Victorian Government (Efficient Shower Impact), Asian Development Bank (Water Security Quantification across multiple countries), and the development of a newly approved Centre for Climate-Resilient Water.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research: Conduct high-quality research aligned with disciplinary standards, publishing in reputable outlets. Manage research projects, engaging with stakeholders and clients, while actively contributing to competitive funding applications such as ARC, CRC-P, and UQ schemes. Collaborate with colleagues on joint research initiatives and supports knowledge transfer through translation and potential commercialisation of UQ intellectual property. Develop a focused research program, builds an emerging research profile, and applies best practice research methodologies.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Support with effective supervision of research students and staff, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development, while managing responsibilities and resolving issues in line with University policies.
Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate UQ values through collaboration, supporting team operations, and contributing to service roles and committees. Actively engages in internal and external activities and begins building partnerships with industry and the broader community.

About You
Completion or near completion of a PhD in the area of urban water and related environmental, social and economic interactions with water.
Project management experience including stakeholder engagement.
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities (desirable but not essential).
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, mandatory immunisations, etc.
