As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you’ll work alongside the NIISQ Chair in Physical Activity and Disability to design and deliver innovative, evidence-based programs that enhance health, rehabilitation, and inclusion for people with disabilities. With global momentum and rising demand in disability sport and physical activity, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research and be at the forefront of an exciting international movement.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research: Lead innovative research in physical activity, rehabilitation, and inclusion for people with disabilities.
Teaching: Deliver specialised modules and workshops related to physical activity and disability.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Mentor emerging researchers and foster a strong, collaborative research culture.
Citizenship and Service: Build partnerships across health, disability, sport, and community sectors to drive real-world impact ahead of Brisbane 2032.

About You
Completion of a PhD in sport & exercise sciences, rehabilitation sciences, rehabilitation medicine, public health or a related discipline.
A developing research profile, demonstrated through publications, conference presentations, and/or grant contributions.
Experience working with people with disabilities in a physical activity or physical rehabilitation setting
Experience with co-design, participatory research, clinical trials and stakeholder engagement methods.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, education check and mandatory immunisations.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
