About This Opportunity
Come play a pivotal role in shaping data-driven decision making across Australia’s advanced research infrastructure network. The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence will lead the development of NIF’s performance and reporting systems, turning complex data into strategic insights that guide national research outcomes.
Working closely with the NIF Executive, you’ll oversee the implementation of new reporting frameworks, deliver agile data solutions, and collaborate with NIF’s extensive network of university, medical research, and government partners.

Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of NIF’s reporting and performance measurement systems to support strategic decision making.
Deliver high-quality data analysis and insights that inform planning, performance, and policy across NIF Central and partner organisations.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with NIF’s strategic objectives.
Provide strategic leadership in data analytics by developing agile solutions, establishing best practices, and supporting capability development across the network.
About National Imaging Facility (NIF)
National Imaging Facility (NIF) is Australia's advanced imaging network. We provide open access to flagship imaging equipment, expertise, tools, data and analysis. NIF is a $300m portfolio of imaging capabilities which have received investment from the Australian government, under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS), state governments.
We are a network of 14 university, medical research institute and government science agency partners. NIF is administered by The University of Queensland and is independently governed.

About You
Holds a postgraduate qualification (or progress toward one) in data science, business analytics, or a related field, or brings equivalent experience.
Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience interpreting complex datasets to deliver meaningful insights.
Skilled in using data analysis and visualisation tools such as R, Python, Tableau, SPSS, or similar platforms.
Excels at managing projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering to implementation and evaluation.
Communicates clearly and confidently, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable advice for diverse stakeholders.
Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
